Welcome to Hucknall Flying High Academy and Flying Start Nursery.

As Headteacher, I am delighted that you have chosen our school to begin your child’s educational journey. We are a proud member of the Flying High Partnership, a family of schools across the East Midlands united by a shared commitment to placing children at the heart of every decision. Through strong collaboration, shared expertise and a culture of mutual support and accountability, we strive to ensure every child achieves their very best in our school.

At Hucknall Flying High Academy, we are a close-knit, one-form entry primary school, welcoming children from Nursery through to Year 6. This enables us to truly know every child as an individual, nurturing them throughout their early years and beyond, building strong, lasting relationships with families.

Our Flying Start Nursery provides a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment, where children are encouraged to become confident, curious and independent learners. We are passionate about giving every child the best possible start in life, fostering a love of learning through a carefully balanced approach of play, exploration and structured teaching.

We aim to:

• Inspire aspirations for every child, family and the wider community to aim high and dream big
• Support every child as an individual, enabling them to “look forward with confidence and back with pride”

Throughout their time in Nursery, children will experience a rich and stimulating environment filled with opportunities to explore, discover and grow. We work closely with families to ensure every child feels safe, valued and excited to learn.
